Overview
Straight, properly aligned teeth are not only attractive, but they are also healthier and more comfortable. Crooked teeth and an improper bite can lead to long-term dental issues that can become painful and expensive to fix. This is why our team of dental professionals are proud to offer the Invisalign system — removable, clear teeth aligners for adults and teens in West Brattleboro, VT. Custom made for your teeth and your specific needs, Invisalign treatment is more attractive and comfortable than traditional metal orthodontics since they can be removed, which make eating and brushing your teeth much easier. If you or a family member are interested in getting straighter teeth with Invisalign technology, schedule a consultation at Dental Health to learn more.
Best Candidates
There are many factors that can determine your teeth alignment: genetics, thumb-sucking as a child, the loss of a tooth or teeth, and traumatic accidents to the face. The misalignment of your teeth can lead to other oral health problems, including dental malocclusion (a bad bite), abnormal enamel wear, trouble speaking and chewing, as well as toothaches and jaw pain. If our dentist notices any of these problems during your dental exam, they may recommend an orthodontic treatment, like Invisalign clear aligners.
Invisalign treatment is great for both adults and teens who want straighter teeth without the pain, hassle, and appearance of traditional metal braces. While they do need to be worn for approximately 22 hours a day, Invisalign aligners can be taken out for eating and brushing your teeth, as well as for special events and playing sports. Far more discreet than metal braces that cut and poke the inside of the mouth, most people will usually not be able to tell that you are wearing Invisalign trays.
What To Expect
Your first set of Invisalign trays will be created using digital impressions at Dental Health. Once they are ready, you will return to get your first sets along with care instructions from our team. You will need to wear your aligners for at least 20 – 22 hours each day for the system to be effective, ideally removing them only for eating and cleaning. Over time, you will move to the next set of aligners as they gently move your teeth into their proper position. You will need to schedule follow-up appointments every 4 – 6 weeks at Dental Health to have the fit of your aligners checked and to have more digital impressions taken so new sets of aligners can be made. The length of time that you undergo Invisalign treatment will vary based on the original position of your teeth and your cosmetic goals, but most patients wear aligners for about one year.

Follow-Up
Once your teeth are in alignment, it's important to keep your teeth from moving back to their former position. Invisalign's Vivera® retainers are designed with the same comfortable materials to help keep your teeth in place after your treatment is complete. Each retainer is custom made at the Invisalign dental laboratory based on digital impressions taken once your treatment is complete. We will talk to you about how often to wear your retainer and how to care for it once it is sent from the lab. In addition, our Invisalign dentist will continue to watch your teeth alignment and bite during your annual dental exams to ensure your teeth remain in the correct position.
Insurance Coverage
For many patients, some of their Invisalign treatment cost may be covered by dental insurance. Our front office will confirm your benefits and calculate your personal costs. Dental Health accepts many different payment methods for patients who don't have dental insurance. During your initial consultation, our patient coordinators can go over your estimated costs and ways to make your treatment more affordable, including flexible payment plans and medical financing.
